Oh if I could grab you by the back of your head and run you through my
life
And show you the scars on my very soul
Maybe then you will see
Why I feel angry confused hurt betrayed
For each scar tells a different story
That is so much the same as the one before
That they have made me so used to the sadness
Where I think it is normal to have
Tears on my heart and betrayal on my soul And a new scar every other day
Hidden deep so only some can see
Oh if I could grab you by the back of your head and run you through my
life
And show you the scars on my very soul

Citizen Me

When I was born I wasn't a citizen
The constitution said so
When I was born
When I was born
Mother held me as mothers tend to do
Aunties loved me as Aunties like to do
When I was born
When I was born
When I was born I was second class
The constitution said so
When I was born
When I was born
Now I'm a man, a citizen
Arguably equal before the law
Now I'm a man
Now I'm a man
Now I'm a man under their law
Except I have no say in it at all
Now I'm a man
Now I'm a man
Everybody has their say
Bout what is right and what is left
Everybody looks my way
When I say I am still considered less
No-one sees it like I do
Judged by all who come my way
But when I was born
I was never considered
Part of the Australian way
when I was born
when I was born
when I was born
when I was born
when I was born

When
My Spirit Sings
R Frankland © 1/99
Sometimes the sunlight makes my spirit sing
And I laugh out loud and laugh louder inside
When I listen to my spirit sing
Sometimes I wake with a smile on my lips
When the morning touches me gently
And mother earth calls my name
With every bird in flight
And every drop of rain
When I listen to my spirit sing
Sometimes my spirit learns a song
From a childs simple laughter
From the way a mother loves
From lovers, sisters, brothers, fathers
When I listen to my spirit sing
My spirit sings
In a voice that can't be heard
Unless you listen carefully
My spirit sings
A song that can't be written
Unless you read between the lines
My spirit sings
With music no instrument can play
Unless you can play my soul
When my spirit sings
When my spirit sings

A
New Day Dawning
R Frankland © 1/99
There is a new day dawning
I am sure I am sure
Where everyone will see only love
And hatred will be no more
There is a change that is coming
I am sure I am sure
Where differences will be celebrated
The end of religions and of war
Where money will not be the price of land
And heaven will be where we stand
And Elders will be Elders
Like it was before
There is a new day dawning
I am sure I am sure

Have
You Ever
R Frankland ©
Have you ever
felt
The spirit of
The Land
When you've walked
alone
and
Seen the beauty in
one tree
one rock
And
managed
somehow
To overlook
The majestic
Landscapes
To see a spirit
in one tree
one rock
Have you ever
